I LOVE YOU GOODBYE FULL MOVIE

a romantic drama directed by Laurice Guillen, starring Gabby Concepcion as an established doctor who falls for a younger woman played by Angelica Panganiban. Gabby’s daughter (Kim Chiu) doesn’t like her dad’s girlfriend and when she brings home a new guy (Angelica’s real life boyfriend Derek Ramsay) it turns out that he is the ex boyfriend of Angelica. Basically, it’s a love square. Gabby loves Angelica, who loves Gabby too but may also still be in love with Derek, who pretends to be interested in Kim to get to Angelica.

The good news is that it’s not all that bad. Angelica Panganiban can cry on cue and she is surprisingly easy to watch. Her chemistry with Derek Ramsay is palpable on screen, it’s too bad that her scenes with Gabby feel strained and wooden. Kim Chiu is a revelation—she’s gorgeous and vulnerable, perfectly cast as the shallow and spoiled daughter who only wants her father’s attention.

And Gabby Concepcion? He’s actually a better actor now—still good looking but with a bit more emotional depth that speaks of maturity and life experience. He will never be a character actor but at least now he’s more than a matinee idol from the ’80s. And KC’s dad.

Some bright spots: aside from Kim Chiu’s delicate porcelain beauty, I Love You Goodbye has a great supporting cast. There’s Ketchup Eusebio who I think could be the new Dolphy, Matet de Leon who is typecast as the plain best friend but provides a warm and authentic character for the movie, Liza Lorena looking fabulous in a purple muumuu as Gabby’s rich and snobbish mother, and the lovely Angel Aquino almost playing herself as the kind, beautiful, sophisticated, and intelligent ex-wife.

My essential problem with I Love You Goodbye—aside from the overly florid musical score that made me want to tear my hair out and an unfocused camera—is that it struck no emotional chords with me. Not a single kilig moment. Not a single tear. Call me jaded—you won’t be the first—but that’s the truth.

THE PROMISE (2007)

The Promise (Filipino: Ang Pangako) is a Philippine movie. It is a revival of the movie "Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit", which was based on the international novel Wuthering Heights. It was starred Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin.

Daniel and Andrea grew up in the same home and have been closer than real brothers and sisters ever since. But her father's goodwill to take in Daniel and bring him up does not sit well with her real older brother, who retaliates one day and kicks Daniel out. But by this time, nothing can come between the deeply in love Andrea and Daniel anymore--until the rich family on whose hacienda they've been working all these years come back. Andrea catches the eye of the rich son, while the daughter fancies Daniel, too. This will set in motion a series of events that will test how deep the two's love goes.

After the examination, the doctor concludes that Andrea has a fever and that she has to take a special medicine to get rid of the infection that is causing it. The doctor explains that he cannot give Andrea antibiotics because it could harm the baby. "What baby?" asks Anton. The doctors continues on stating that Andrea is, in fact, pregnant, but she has an "ectopic pregnancy", which means that an egg that is fertilized is implanted somewhere other than the uterine wall. If Andrea is not treated soon she could have a haemorrhage or severe internal bleeding. Seeing as how Anton could not have been able to impregnate Andrea because he is infertile, the only explanation for her pregnancy is Daniel. As soon as the doctor leaves, Anton locks Andrea and himself in the bedroom and he starts to beat her. He calls her a shameless whore and he keeps hitting her as she tries to get up and walk. The maid and Monique overhear Anton and Andrea from the outside of the door and when they hear that Daniel got Andrea pregnant, Monique sobs and sobs, heartbroken after hearing the news. She then runs to Daniel's house and tells him what she has just found out. Anton keeps on hitting Andrea despite the screaming and pleading for him to stop. Then she falls to the ground, and Anton is about to hit her again when he sees that the white dress she is wearing has bloodstains on it that were not there before. The movie is brought back to the grandpa from the beginning of the movie. His grandchildren ask if Andrea is still alive and he answers "Yes. She is still alive right here, in my heart." A montage shows Andrea and Daniel playing together on the beach. It goes back and forth from this scene to a scene where the grandpa continues his walk along the beach, but very weakly. It then shows a clip of him on the sand, his hand held out, holding the same locket with Daniel and Andrea's picture in it. This implies that the grandpa is, in fact Daniel and that his last memory was of Andrea and himself, being together at last.

The episode Lamang Lupa is about a group of friends who go camping only to find themselves relentlessly pursued by ferocious creatures, the lamang lupa. Directed by Jessel Monteverde, this episode features Jennica Garcia, Rayver Cruz, Iya Villania, Mart Escudero, Bangs Garcia and twin brothers Dominic Roco and Felix Roco.

The second episode Diablo tells the story of Claire, a young doctor-intern at a provincial hospital who is haunted by demonic visions after she encounters a female patient who is suspected of carrying a deadly flu virus. Claire’s aunt brings her to Fr. Ronnie who turns out be Claire’s ex-boyfriend. Old flames are rekindled while Fr. Ronnie and Claire battle the demons. Directed by Rico Gutierrez, this episode pairs Maja Salvador and Mark Anthony Fernandez for the very first time.

Completing this horror trilogy is Ukay-Ukay, which reunites former reel and real sweethearts Ruffa Gutierrez and Zoren Legaspi. Ruffa and Zoren play soon-to-be-married couple Kayla and Harold whose wedding plans are deterred by a possessed gown from an ukay-ukay. Writer-turned-director Don Michael Perez is at the helm of this episode.

New Tagalog Movie Ang Panday

Ang Panday revolves around the peace-loving but brave Flavio (Bong Revilla Jr.). His arch-enemy Lizardo (Phillip Salvador) attempts to ruin the peace and harmony of their dwelling place, affecting the inhabitants. Moreover, the evil warlord challenges Flavio by capturing his beautiful lady love Maria (Iza Calzado). A series of events take place, bringing the panday (blacksmith) at the forefront of a full-blown war against Lizardo’s troops.

Magno (Manny Pacquiao) is an ordinary man whose world revolves around his five kids while his wife, Magda (Rufa Mae Quinto), works as a nurse in Italy.

One night Magno meets an accident. A car crashes into his truck, and upon impact, a big explosion takes place. Miraculously, Magno survives unscathed. The blowup was caused by Walo-walo, an organic substance, which stores energy that is almost as powerful as a nuclear energy. Soon, he wakes up and feels like a new man. Lighter, Faster, Stronger. Interestingly, his new found powers start helping him to become a better dad. His wish of being faster, smarter, and stronger for his family is coming true. He assumes the identity of their favorite superhero: Wapakman!

Soon, Magno learns that Magda has come back to take the kids with her in Italy. Magno wants his family to be together–happy and whole. He doesn’t want to let go of the kids. But, can he be a good dad in the eyes of his kids and still be a superhero? Magno knows that with Wapakman around, the world will be a much safer place for his kids. This is a responsibility he just can not turn away from, but if it means losing his kids… Can he give up being a superhero if it means saving the world? It is the hardest choice he has ever had to face, and he must make a decision–fast!
